Mind Body


One must have an open heart to be happy.  Anxiety stems from fear.  We cannot have an open heart if we judge.  How much of your own fear defines who you are?

We will bring mindfulness into our workouts.  This will have differing significance for each athlete.  Think of it as a door that is slightly opened and awaiting you.  Each time we meet will give you an opportunity to explore mindfulness and / or meditation.  However, the development of this practice will be your choice.  Several of us have been seeking meditation instruction at the Kurukulla monastery in Medford over the last few months.  I'm excited to attend the Dalai Lama's visit on the 16th.  We'll try to incorporate some of the mind meditation and concentration techniques into our workouts.  So stay tuned...
